Books Awaiting Approval
Background: According to the revised Library Acquisition Policy, “Each school librarian shall provide the Building Principal with a list of all new materials recommended for purchase or inclusion on a monthly basis. After the Building Principal’s initial approval, the recommended list shall be provided to the Board, announced to parents/guardians via the building newsletter or other means reasonably expected to reach parents/guardians, and posted on the District’s website for 30 days prior to the Superintendent’s final approval. After 30 days, the Superintendent shall make a final recommendation list for consideration and approval by the Board. Library Materials recommended by the Superintendent shall be adopted through a majority vote by the Board. Upon Board approval, the Library Materials shall then be processed for order.”
Below are book acquisition lists for March 2025 made available by the Pine-Richland School District. PRBBN will be closely monitoring these lists, and any book not ultimately procured will be moved to the Banned Book List.
